We will be recycling just about everything and offering free bike valet service. Events can sometimes produce a lot of waste and greenhouse gases, but not Make Music Vancouver!

Opening this June 16th at 452 West Cordova is the new L'Atelier Home, a concept furniture store that focuses on offering rare quality pieces at exceptional prices. "[The idea] started with this habit I had of changing my furniture around every few months," owner and designer Linda Levi laughs, "and then realizing that prices are so outrageous sometimes for the quality that I liked and the style that I liked." From there, she began reupholstering, painting, and sanding vintage wares, up-cycling classic pieces and breathing new life into them.

Bike to Work Week x Global Relay

Meet Kelly and Colin from Global Relay. These two avid Vancouver bikers are also committing their time as volunteer coordinators for the upcoming Global Relay Gastown Grandprix (which is creeping up soon on July 11th!).

They biked down to work on a beautiful sunny day and we were able to capture them showing off their rides. Find out what they love about their bikes and their work.  Also, don't just stand there on race day - you can help Kelly and Colin put on the race by signing up to volunteer here!

We are all in a similar mood these spring days. It's time to shed some layers and restock your closet with bright colors, t-shirts, and shorts - all the things we love about summer. We felt particularly inspired when we scanned through Neighbour's Spring/Summer look book,  shot on location at Sit and Read in Brooklyn, New York by photographer Ken Tisuthiwongse. It's fresh, simple, and warm - just like the summer days and nights to come. We chatted briefly with Saager from Neighbour about the shoot and their spring arrivals.

Restauranteurs Andrey Stewart and Chris Durbach have done it again, this time in our very own neighbourhood. Their newest restaurant, the Sardine Can, opened its doors last week and breathed new life into 26 Powell with an intimate Spanish tapas bar.
