In 1995, when Steamworks first took hold of our historic Gastown brewpub location, they discovered that the building had a rare steam heat system. A remnant from forward thinkers of a century past. Steamworks' brewmaster had only read of steam powered brewing, but had never seen a functional steam brewery. These are very rare indeed.

This September 18th, Cork and Fin is teaming up with Gordon Fitzpatrick and Darryl Brooker of CedarCreek Winery to bring us the launch of some fabulous new vintages: Platinum Viognier, Chardonnay & Pinot Noir as well as the special 25th anniversary bottling ‘Tradition’. Via Old Faithful - As summer draws to a close we find ourselves heading back to work or school and needing that extra boost just to get us there. As much as we love a piping hot cup of joe it's hard to stomach it when the thermostat is still about to pop. Here's the perfect alternative: pour-over iced coffee. It's a cinch to do and the results are flavourful and packed with pick-me-ups. 

Join fellow beer lovers in a four-stop cask carouse through Vancouver’s historic Gastown! CAMRA, otherwise known as the Campaign for Real Ale Society of British Columbia, will be making stops to feature a unique and interesting cask conditioned sleeve of ale and appetizer to pair with it at several of Gastown's haunts. All four stops will feature a guest speaker educating cask carousers how each cask conditioned beer pairs with the appetizer. Additional sleeves or pints will be available at each stop (price TBA).

After a brief absence, the Irish Heather's Long Table Series is back for summer! They have moved some meals around; the iconic roast suckling pig is now a Monday meal and there is a new (very welcome) addition -- a Clam Bake!! 

Well, we know one of the places where we will be hanging out this long weekend! On Judas Goat's lovely, little yellow patio! It's finally open. Indulge in summer with great Spanish-inspired tapas at this great location, amidst the atmosphere of Blood Alley. 

To go with a nice, new, little patio in Gaoler's Mews, Boneta has a new lunch menu up and ready for your summer meetings and meet-ups. We love how much activity has been going on in our favorite little courtyard! Check out the new menu below, complete with lux poutine, trout tartare, and fish and chips.

Lunch will be running Monday to Friday, from noon to 2:30.

Nicli has expanded their (very delicious) exploration of Italian cuisine, now incorporating Vicino Deli next door to Nicli Pizzeria. All in all, this little section of Cordova makes for a perfect one-stop for everything from a fine meal in, groceries to-go, daily made in-house pastas, salads and meat dishes, as well as some seriously delicious coffee (and pastries).

PIT FOR YOUR SUPPER is back at the Irish Heather on Wednesday, August 1st, 7pm. The innovative Sean Heather has come up with a night where you simply trade your time for a delicious Long Tables Series meal. Attendees get food and beer in exchange for 2 hours work pitting beautiful cherries: Spiced Pork Loin, with Potato Salad & Fresh Cut Slaw, to go with Fat Tug IPA, from Driftwood Brewery in Victoria, BC. The beautiful cherries are from Scott Hawthorne's orchard, Picker's Shack, in Naramata, B.C.
