Super Bowl LI is upon us.
This Sunday February 5th the Atlanta Falcons and New England Patriots will face each other in what is gearing up to be the game of the year. Gastown will be a hotspot for all football lovers and for those that like beer, nachos and big screen tv’s.
Many of our venues will have specials, parties and other Super Bowl festivities. Pick your pub and plan to stay for the day!
La Casita
A Mexican hideaway that is often frequented by locals and visitors alike, La Casita will be showing 2017 Super Bowl games right up to the big one on Sunday. They will have lots of awesome menu and drink specials including their supersize grande margaritas! Everyone is welcome at this fun and friendly neighbourhood hangout.
The Blarney Stone
How does 60,000 screaming fans watching a bunch of huge guys throwing a pigskin around on a 240-inch big screen sound? Loud. And pretty awesome. The Blarney Stone is hosting a massive Super Bowl party to celebrate this Sunday. Advanced tickets are $25 each and include a Pig Roast Dinner (or choose an item off the Game Day Menu), two pints of Molson, guaranteed seating, squares and Sports Trivia, and the chance to win prizes and jerseys. Grab your tickets in-house or online to reserve your place.
The Cambie
Grab a Cambie Platter, a drink or pitcher and you’re set for Sunday’s Showdown. The Cambie is always lively and due its wide-open spaces and long tables, it’s a great place to go with a bunch of wild friends that make up your football fanatic entourage. There are plenty of cheap drinks and good pub fare to keep you satisfied and don’t worry about getting a good view: This spot has 13 HD TVs scattered around.
The Lamplighter Pub
One of the biggest NFL parties in the neighbourhood will be at The Lamplighter. On special are beers from Parallel along with a halftime contest. The Black Frog
This warm nook just off Water at Cambie is the perfect place to watch the Super Bowl solo or with a friend or two. The Frog will serve up their usual Sunday food and drink specials and have a big screen along 3 HD TV’s strategically positioned around the pub.
The Charles Bar
Nicely located at the foot of The Woodward’s Building, The Charles Bar knows how to throw a party. They have a bunch of fun stuff planned for Sunday including Tecmo Bowl Tournament, Super Bowl Squares along with a special Super Bowl menu and a contest. Oh, and they have a 9-foot HD screen. Just sayin’.
The Bourbon
This Gastown party place will be no exception on Sunday. The Bourbon will be oiling the mechanical bull for halftime fun and there will be a ton of food and drink specials. Lots of space, plenty of screens and good times guaranteed.
The Metropole Pub
This smaller venue will be big on Super Bowl giveaways. There are many drinks on special and for those who arrive before halftime – there will be complimentary burgers and beer, a big screen giveaway and cool door prizes. Get there early. It will pay off in so many ways!
