It’s a known fact that dogs at the office are nothing but a good thing. They make for a positive atmosphere, lower stress levels, spark and energize conversations, and are condusive to creativity and job fulfillment. Not a bad line-up of pros. Gastown is a dog-loving neighbourhood, and you would be surprised at how many four-legged friends are an essential part of our burgeoning businesses. Our new series continues with Rufus at Parliament Interiors.

NAME: Rufus

BREED: Miniature Australian Shepherd

AGE: 4

POSITION: I, Craig, am the Minister of Interior and co-owner, buyer, merchandiser,

salesperson. The list goes on… Rufus is the Minister of Wildlife and Lounging. 

WHAT I DO: Rufus is our store greeter. He makes his rounds, saying his version of a hello to all our guests. If it’s between the hours of 2-5 however, you may find him snoozing in the middle of the aisle for his afternoon siesta. If you approach him, one eye may open and he’ll roll on his back looking for a scratch. This is hard to resist. 😉 Rufus has quite the fan club – many locals (both human and canine) pop in regularly to say hello to him. He loves attention and invites anyone who has not been in our shop to come say hello (and give him a pat).

This soy candle supports the local owl rescue and rehabilitation society and smells of a delicious vanilla-fig.
