Carrall Street will close to vehicle traffic between noon and 9pm on Friday and again on Saturday, allowing pedestrians to take over the street. In addition to extended patios for The Blarney Stone, Notturno, Cork & Fin, The Irish Heather and Vera’s, tables have been added within the roadway to provide public seating for all to enjoy.

The Pop-Up Park provides a shared community space within Gastown for those who live, work and visit the neighbourhood. Each table features a reason to gather, with built in game boards for chess, checkers, snakes & ladders, ludo and backgammon. Game pieces are available from The Blarney Stone – just be sure to return them!

The Gastown Pop-Up Park will run every weekend in August and likely continue into September, if the weather cooperates. And whether it’s a Friday afternoon backgammon tourmanment between local businesses or a family game on a sunny Saturday afternoon, we expect to see lots of people popping by.
