New things are ‘popping-up’ every week in Gastown. This week's list includes a shop-in-shop, chocolate making workshop, exclusive beers in the ’30 Days of IPA,’ and much more.

Rodney’s Now Serving Raw Scallops

Here’s something new to add to your bucket list: Rodney’s Oyster House is serving raw scallops for a limited time at their Gastown location. Mild flavour with beautiful meaty texture – all your need is a lemon and black pepper. Come by and taste them while they are still available.

Thirty Days of IPA

Beer enthusiasts can sample new IPAs everyday in Gastown. Lamplighter Pub and Clough Club are hosting ’30 days of IPA’, a month long event featuring 30 breweries and their IPAs. Raise your glass to one-time only casks, or one-off brews and unqiue beers that are new to B.C.

Aunts & Uncles Shop-in-Shop

It’s the perfect time to shop for new leather gear to get you to work, school, or across the ocean in style. Rowan Sky is bringing back their shop-in-shop event with Aunts & Uncles, happening now until September 8th. The stylish shoe boutique is featuring Aunts & Uncles’ entire collection of beautiful, well crafted leather bags, wallets, and purses.

Gear up with Reflective Denim

Save the Date for the Gastown BBQ & Chili Festival

Mark it down on your calendar! The third annual Gastown BBQ & Chili returns next weekend – August 30th and 31st – for two fun filled afternoons of eating, dancing and live entertainment on Carrall Street between Water and Cordova Streets. Eleven Gastown restaurants will compete in an outdoor cookout, offering eager tasters samples of barbecued ribs, wings, and brisket. This year’s festivities include a wing-eating contest, pig roast, beer stand, and celebrity appearances. Stay tuned for updates on what each participant will be ‘grilling’ for the festival.

Get Your Game On at the Pop-Up Park

Grab a friend for a game of chess, checkers, snakes & ladders, backgammon or ludo. The 200 block of Carrall Street will turn into a ‘pop-up park’ with game tables set up this Friday and Saturday, between 12pm-9pm. More details
