Winnowing Workshops at East Van Roasters
Join East Van Roasters for their Winnow Wednesdays to learn about chocolate making, enjoy the company of friends and try some fabulous cacao while volunteering for an important social enterprise in the downtown eastside.
What is winnowing? Winnowing is taking the papery shell off of the freshly roasted cacao bean. East Van Roasters uses 22 kg of winnowed cacao beans to make one batch of chocolate. The Winnow Workshops will be held on Wednesday nights in March at 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
Introduction to Ikebana, Japanese Flower Arranging Workshop
Join Olla Flowers on for an introduction to Ikebana flower arranging workshop this Saturday March 15th from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Connect with the beauty and poetry of the natural world through this ancient art form. Each student will learn the basic skills to create striking, minimalist arrangements using kenzan (pin frogs) and local, seasonal flowers.
Cost- $50 includes all flower materials, one kenzan + coffee/tea and light snacks.

On Tuesday March 11th, Nicli will be preparing a five course Mexican inspired Neapolitan pizza and beer extravaganza! Taste 4 courses of amazing, original pizzas not on the menu and then finished with a delicatable dessert. Each course is paired perfectly with a different offering from the award wining Howe Sound Brewery. Come eat, drink and be merry.

Black Sheep Blueprint Live at Shine Nightclub
This Thursday March 13th, Shine Nightclub presents hip hop duo, Black Sheep. Remembered for a couple of striking singles and their membership in the Native Tongues family of groups, Black Sheep also recorded one of rap music’s most entertaining debuts, A Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing.
St. Patrick’s Weekend Kick Off Party at The Blarney Stone
The Blarney Stone is hosting a three-day community block party to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. The block party kicks off this Saturday March 15th, with face painting, balloon art sculpture, street performances and live music starring Killarney, The Sheets, and DJ Steele.
