Samonie Toonoo Collection at Innuit Gallery
From March 14th to April 3rd, Inuit Gallery of Vancouver is proud to present Samonie Toonoo’s collection of work. Samonie Toonoo’s work continues to challenge established paradigms for Inuit sculptural work in the contemporary art world. Over the last 25 years as an artist, Samonie has evolved from realistic depictions of wildlife and figurative forms into this collection. On Friday March 21, the “technical prowess” Martin Buttrich will be mixing live. Buttrich’s journey into electronic music began in clubs in Berlin and Hannover at the dawn of the ‘90s, when post-Summer of Love-Europe began to swing to its own hypnotic, machine-like groove. Having his debut solo album Crash Test released on Desolat in early 2010, Martin Buttrich is taking his vision to the road, fusing wild imagination with solid musical architecture, cherry-picked inspiration with true perfection of his musical craft.
