It’s fall and we’re looking forward to trying the new recipes on the Lily Mae’s menu. L’Abattoir Launches Lunch Service & Private Dining Space


Gastown’s French inspired L’Abattoir is now opening its doors earlier to include lunch from Monday to Friday between 11:30am and 2:30pm. Their elegant lunch service offers diners a choice between a two or three course menu, or select a meal a la carte. Behind the bar, resident expert Shaun Layton has designed some new cocktail creations to compliment lunchtime dining. Lunch aside; L’Abattoir is also pleased to announce the debut of their 1,200 sq ft. private dining room, designed with exposed brick walls, beamed ceilings, sleek glass and custom chandeliers. While large enough for 50 people seated or 80 standing, the room retains an intimate ambiance suited for any occasion, from private gatherings and celebrations to corporate functions and meetings. Sharing Perspectives


Today, September 15th, The Profile Vancouver is hosting ‘Sharing Perspectives’ with Adam Tampuri Chair of the Board of Fairtrade Africa. This talk is an informative session covering an important topic – Fair Trade. Chief Adam Tampuri represents Fairtrade certified producers across Africa, serves on the board of both Fairtrade Germany and the Fairtrade Foundation in the UK, and also chairs the Fairtrade-certified Gbankuliso Cashew Farmers Association. Coming Soon: Salida 7

Keep your eyes peeled for an exciting new addition to the restaurant scene. New Spanish eatery, Salida 7­ is opening its doors on 2 Alexander Street. Salida 7 will offer a sophisticated menu, created by Chef Sandro Olivieri, showcasing authentic Spanish cuisine. Think classic tapas and mains made with local ingredients, such as Salt Spring ‘Gaudi’ mussels, superb gazpacho, Dungess crab and ‘Arrojesat,’ a traditional rice dish. Stay tuned for their official opening later this month.
