Nicli Antica Pizzeria Opens “Next Door”
Nicli Antica Pizzeria is opening “Next Door,” a new Italian small plates eatery that is literally next door to the award-winning pizzeria. The Italian-inspired menu created by chef Dave Tozer features tasty dishes that include braised pork belly, bruschetta, mussels in white wine, and housemade ricotta. Come by and enjoy snacks, cocktails and an all-Italian wine list at 68 E. Cordova Street. Next Door is open from 5pm on Wednesdays to Saturdays.
Secret Location Welcomes Thiago Castanho
This week, Secret Location welcomes Thiago Castanho to their Tasting Room for a book signing and collaborative dinner with Chef Jefferson Alvarez.
Book Signing – Secret Location is proud to be one of Canada’s first retailers to sell Brazilian Food, an imaginative cookbook by Chef Thiago Castanho and Luciana Bianchi. Join them for an exclusive book launch signing on Monday, July 14th between 4pm-6pm.
Four Hands Dinner – This Tuesday, July 15th, Secret Location will be housing a revolutionary Four Hands Dinner, featuring the collective work of Jefferson Alvarez and Thiago Castanho. Jules Bistro is a causal French bistro that blends traditional French cooking with innovated West Coast style. Owner and Chef Emmanuel had a restaurant in Paris before immigrating to Canada with his family in 2000 and opened Jules Bistro over seven years ago.

The Tummy Rumble at Blacktail Florist
Blacktail Florist is hosting a special dining event this Monday July 14th. Guests will be treated to a four-course menu of the restaurant’s unique array of wild seasonal products, handpicked foraged edibles in two sittings, the first at 6pm and the second at 8:30pm.
Each $60 ticket to the dining event will support the fundraising efforts by the four fighters competing in the Aprons for Gloves charity boxing event. There are 40 available seats for each siting and tickets can be purchased either at the restaurant (332 Water Street) or by phone at 604-699-0249.
Troy Pierce Live at Shine Nightclub
On Friday July 18th, Shine Nightclub will welcome Troy Pierce. The Troy Pierce sound is one which has constantly veered from dense, layered and abstract to stripped down, acid infused and pulsing. His sonic palette is one that draws on a wide array of influences and reaches far outside the confines of the studio and into an otherworld entirely. Fusing techno with minimalism, darkness with light and heaviness with rhythm, this American has never been afraid to experiment in the outer regions of his vast musical universe.
