SALIDA 7 OPENS ITS DOORS

There’s a new restaurant bringing the spirit of healthy coastal and continental Spanish kitchen to Gastown. The vibrant, Salida 7 provides authentic Spanish food and modern tapas with a great selection of carefully selected Spanish wines in a relaxing atmosphere.  Tomorrow, Tues Oct 7th, they will host an inaugural dinner from 7pm-12am. You can come join the fiesta, dance to flamenco music, and taste their flavourful offerings at 52 Alexander St.

THANKSGIVING DINNER WITH ALL THE TRIMMINGS

Why go through all the fuss at home when someone can do it for you? The Flying Pig will host Thanksgiving Dinner with special offerings from their Chalkboard feature along with their regular menu on Sunday October 12 and Monday October 13. THANKSGIVING LONG TABLE SERIES

The ever-popular Long Table Series is back with two special dinners for Thanksgiving weekend. Dishing up Thanksgiving Pot Pie; made with a delicious stew of dark and white meat and vegetables, served with a layer of stuffing and cranberry sauce on top and mashed potatoes with gravy on the side.  At $18 including a select beer, it remains one of the most delectable, fun, and not to mention affordable meals in the city.

NEW CHANGES AT BLACKTAIL FLORIST

Blacktail Florist has announced a new culinary team and new fall menu. Created by Executive Chef Geoff Rogers, the seasonally inspired menu features out-of-the-box dishes, off-cut meats and expertly crafted dishes from farm to finish. Guests can also enjoy a unique cocktail list of classic and original libations crafted by barman and craft distillery expert, Arthur Wynne, using only local craft spirits. In addition, Blacktail’s sister establishment, Kanaka has transformed their space into a subterranean lounge and innovative test bar with one of a kind menu items and playful cocktails.

Come by and try their new signature offerings. Blacktail Florist is located inside the Le Magasin building at 200-332 Water Street and open Monday to Sunday starting at 5pm. Guests can make reservations online at opentable.com. Kanaka is open Wednesday to Saturday.

STR/KE MVMNT IS MOVING IN

Vancouver-based athletic footwear and apparel brand, STR/KE MVMNT, has opened their new retail front in Gastown. STR/KE MVMNT has found a foothold amongst athletes, trainers, and movement enthusiasts alike offering designs that accelerate technical performance with a classic aesthetic. STARE OFF TOURNAMENT

In honour of World Sight Day on October 9th, Clearly Contacts is launching a ‘stare off’ tournament at Portside Pub to raise awareness for blindness and visually impairment. For every participant, Change the View and Clearly Contacts will donate a pair of prescription eyeglasses, Vitamin A tablets or UV protective sunglasses to someone in need.

GASTOWN CABARET

This Tuesday, October 7^th, Guilt & Company will host an evening of endless entertainment showcasing a collective cast of dynamic performers. An homage to the cabaret style popularized during the 1920‘s, this event invites the relaxation of censorship, challenging common decency and morals. Prepare to be captivated by their rotating cast of belly dancers, drag performers, chorus girls, comedians, thrilling live stunts, contortionists, singers, musicians, and burlesque dancers.
