Written by Gastown Admin
IRISH HEATHER HOSTS WHISKY TASTING & DINNER
This Thursday October 30th, spirit lovers can sip on rare Scottish tipples at the upcoming Whiskey Supper. The Irish Heather is hosting a wonderful whisky supper featuring single-malts by Ardberg, a premier distillery from Scotland.
The evening will commence at 7pm with an Ardbeg-based cocktail in the Shebeen, inside the Irish Heather. Hobnob with fellow scotch lovers and meet staff in a cozy, casual setting. Then revelers will move to the Irish Heather Long Table, where you will taste your way through four varieties of single malts.
Following the tasting, a savoury supper will be served, including lamb shank pot pie, colcannon mashed potatoes, maple-glazed carrots, with bread pudding, fresh Okanagan fruit and caramel sauce for dessert (served with a surprise whisky pairing). The dinner will also offer vegan, vegetarian, gluten–free and dairy-free options.
Tickets for the whisky supper are $40 and can be requested through email at reso@irishheather.com.
HAVANA NIGHTS & THROWBACK TEQUILA
The newly reopened Kanaka is now hosting two special nights every week. Guests can enjoy Havana Nights on Wednesdays and sip on special mojitos, daiquiris, and Hemingway libations by craft cocktail expert, Arthur Wynne. On Thursday nights, Kanaka will host Throwback Tequila featuring specials on tequila cocktails and shots. The innovative test bar will also launch a ‘Beer and a Snack’ special on every Vancouver home game during NHL hockey season. You can stay up to date on their daily specials through Twitter and Facebook.
