Black Friday is happening on November 28th. Instead of enduring long lineups to hop across the border, why not shop in your own backyard? Think of it as a chance to explore independent fashion without the worry of putting a dent in your wallet, or get that unique item you’ve been eyeing on. Over 30 Gastown retailers are offering special promotions in-store, so come down to the hood for a day of stress-free shopping. Shop local and support small businesses this Saturday November 29th. Select stores will participate in Shop the Neighbourhood to showcase their stylish wares, one of a kind items and everything in between. Come down, get acquainted with the Gastown’s diverse set of shops, and take advantage of exclusive event day deals. Shop the Neighbourhood is happening all day long.

CELEBRATE AMERICAN THANKSGIVING

In case you need an excuse to take the day off work, Lamplighter Pub is hosting an American Thanksgiving celebration on Thursday November 27th. Come by, eat some turducken for $15, drink some beers and watch football all day.

NOTTURNO FEATURES NEW MENU

Winter is coming, so why not fight the cold with bold Italian cuisine? Notturno is serving up new favourites like port and veal polpette with San Mazano. In addition to the culinary delights, you can enjoy a new set of craft cocktails created by award winning bartender, H. The Witch & The Rose might tickle your fancy with its delicious blend of Four Rosees Bouron, Strega Italian aperif, Frino dry sherry, and anise-infused honey. You can preview their new menu here.

CREATE YOUR OWN CUSTOM HOLIDAY WREATH

If you’re looking for a new DIY project, sign up for the Olla Flowers Foraged Evergreen Wreaths workshop taking place on Sunday November 30th. You can learn how to craft a beautiful, custom wreath for your holiday décor using foraged grape vine, mixed evergreens, locally grown berries, cones and high grade ribbon. And, you’ll get to spend time in their beautiful heritage loft and get your hands on the freshest, most sustainable harvest materials, supplied by the local flower shop. ARTSPEAK EXHIBITION

Now until January 10th, Artspeak will host Seurat and Friends featuring works from Matt Browning, Jordy Hamilton, and Gyun Hur. This contemporary art exhibition explores the dialogue of visual art and writing. Artists have produced challenging, innovative works in a diverse media. Come by and view this unique exhibition. On November 28th and 29th, Inform Interiors will welcome back Hopea and their exquisitely unique collection of jewelry pieces to our 50 Water Street showroom.
