LUMAS GALLERY GRAND OPENING

LUMAS has opened its first Canadian location, a few steps away from the Steam Clock. Both a gallery and retailer, LUMAS offers a handpicked portfolio of sought after works from around the world. With a desire to make museum-quality art accessible to the public, LUMAS carries limited editions and signed originals from over 160 internationally renown artists, who’s work typically costs a fortune.

Pop in on Saturday March 7th, between 10am-6pm, to celebrate the grand opening. This event features ‘Interwoven’ by artist Sabine Wild in her first ever exhibition in Canada. The new store is located at 305 Water Street.

  

LIVE GIG TO WELCOME SHOPPERS AT INDOCHINO 

 

This Saturday afternoon (March 7) guests browsing fabrics at Indochino‘s showroom in Gastown will be treated to the stunning vocals of award winning local singer/songwriter Annie Becker. Starting at 2pm, Annie will be playing a live set in store as part of an initiative by the Vancouver-based custom men’s suiting company to support local artists in the community.

NEIGHBOUR OPENS NEW WOMAN’S STORE

Neighbour has debuted its new woman’s location at 52 Powell Street. Retaining a distinct minimalistic aesthetic, the new boutique offers a carefully curated selection of clothing, accessories and art objects admired by owner, Saager Dilawri. There are more details to come, but in the meantime you can stay up to date through Neighbour Woman’s Instagram feed.

ST. PATRICK’S DAY STREET FESTIVAL

Blarney Stone is set to host a five-day festival next week to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. On March 17th, the crew will close the 200 block of Carrall to make way for a grand street party with live music, circus & dance performances, face painting, and more. THE RETURN OF THE WHITECAPS

This Saturday, Vancouver Whitecaps will return to the field to kick off the 2015 MLS season. If you’re looking to rep some new gear as you cheer from the bleachers, drop by the official Whitecaps FC store, located inside the Landing at 375 Water Street. The store is stocked with authentic jerseys, T-shirts, scarves, accessories, and other logo-branded apparel.

MOSQUITO

Last month, Gastown welcomed Mosquito – a new establishment offering champagne without the caviar, and dessert without the frosting. In the kitchen, the finest pastry chefs prepare delectable chocolates, macrons, snacks, and artfully plated desserts. Champagne, sparkling and dessert wine are also on the menu to complete the dessert experience. Drop by on your next date night – Mosquito is open from Wednesday to Sunday, 5pm until midnight.

SMARTYPANTZ

Interactive gaming has made its way to Gastown. SmartyPantz has launched Downtown Vancouver’s first Escape Room facility with film-level props and effects. So, for those who want to jump into some Hollywood action – or looking for a fun way to bond with co-workers, check out what they have to offer here.
