GAME OF THRONES POP-UP COCKTAIL EVENT

Life just got sweeter for Game of Thrones fans. To celebrate the premier of season five, Bambudda is hosting ‘Winter is Coming’, a pop-up cocktail event, happening on Tuesday March 10th at 7pm. To up the cocktail ante, they will bring in guest bartender Matt Grippo of San Francisco’s Blackbird Bar.

Coined as ‘the Whisky Warrior, Matt will be mixing GOT-inspired concoctions, including Milk of the Poppy, Red Wedding, the booze-heavy Mad King, and flaming Mother of Dragons, $11 each or three for $30. To complete the experience, Chef Curtis Luk will prepare a special “All Men Must Dine’ a la carte menu. 

Winter is Coming is a non-ticketed event, however guests are strongly encouraged to place reservations at 604-428-0301.

NICLI’S NEXT DOOR NEW LUNCH SERVICE

Starting this week, Nicli’s Next Door is offering a mouth-watering new lunch menu. Led by Head Chef Josh Gale, lunch offers a $15 fixed price menu featuring a green salad and a hearty plate of pasta. Guests are faced with the difficult—but delectable—task of choosing between Chef Gale’s three soul-satisfying mains. Diners have the option of a delightful dish of pappardelle smothered in a pork & kale ragu or a bountiful bowl of tagliatelle noodles with fennel sausage and creamed garlic. And to ensure no customers are deprived of this lavish lunching experience, a tomato-basil marinara sauce is available for vegetarians.

For those who aren’t able to indulge at lunch, Chef Gale has launched a fresh new dinner menu as well, so lovers of Italian fare can live La Dolce Vita from noon to night.

Join Inform on March 9th from 5 to 8pm, to celebrate Arne Jacobsen and his dedication to crafting timeless design. Arne Jacobsen (1902-1971), renowned architect and designer is known for classics such as the Egg, Swan, Ant, and Series 7 chairs.  This year marks the 60th Anniversary of the Series 7 chair, designed by Arne Jacobsen 1955 and has been produced by Fritz Hansen since then.

Evening includes:

* seminar depicting Arne Jacobsen’s work

* launch of limited edition Anniversary Series 7 chairs

* workshop with Fritz Hansen‘s Master Upholsterer, Hans Thure Mannerhagen, whom will be visiting us from Denmark. Witness the craftsmanship that goes into each of our products as our Master Upholsterer hand sews one of our Danish modern classics, the Egg chair by Arne Jacobsen

ST. PATRICK’S STREET FESTIVAL

The sunny days have returned just in time for the Blarney Stone’s five-day St. Patrick’s Day festival, which runs from Friday March 13th to Tuesday March 17th. On St. Patricks Day, the crew will close the 200 block of Carrall to make way for a grand street party with live music, circus & dance performances, face painting, and more.
