You may have noticed the neighbourhood’s newest fashion addition at last week’s Shop Hop. Local designer, Nicole Bridger has moved her retail flagship to Gastown, bringing stylish designs for the effortlessly chic and environmentally conscious woman.

At Nicole Bridger, fashion doesn’t sacrifice the environment. Each piece is created using ethically sourced materials including renewable, and in many cases, biodegradable fabrics from all over the world. And, style is never compromised in the process. Every piece is modern, refined and designed to flatter the natural curves of a woman’s individuality and femininity.

TRUVELLE X CATHERINE HARTLEY

As the wedding season is underway, Truvelle is collaborating with local designers to expand their bridal fashion offerings. Specializing in wedding gowns, the team at Truvelle is working alongside Vancouver’s own Catherine Hartley Jewellery to create elegant yet simple handmade necklaces, rings, earrings and cuffs, and have also teamed up with Olivia Headpieces on unique headpieces and belts.

TACOFINO DEBUTS PATIO & NEW LUNCH SERVICE

Tacofino’s Taco Bar has debuted their new lunch service and patio just in time for summer.

Taco Bar’s lunch menu offers plenty of new bites including an Ajiaco chicken soup, a veggie taco and chicken taco with epazote chimichurri. Along with tasty new additions, Tacofino has introduced new drink options such as House Made Jalisco Pimm’s, Sangria Jug, Oaxcan Handshake, and new mocktails. Enjoy it all from their 16-seat patio in Blood Alley – or, if you’re looking to grab something to go, head to their Burrito Bar takeout counter on 15 W. Cordova.

PORTSIDE TO HOST BARRELMAN BAR BATTLE

Join Portside Pub this Sunday April 26th between 5-8pm for a one-of-a-kind bartending battle featuring some of Gastown’s finest. During a live on-stage contest, mixed drink masters will make a classic cocktail from Jameson Whiskey in front of a motley crew of judges for a change to win a trip to Ireland to the Jameson Barrelman Homecoming this summer.

Gastown bartenders, including Micky Valens from The Diamond, Kylie Barlett from Blacktail Restaurant and Joey Donnelly from Clough Club, will be putting their skils to the test. Come down and cheer on your favourite bartender and sip on a complimentary classic cocktail from Jameson Whiskey.

We’re excited to welcome another new addition to Gastown’s lunch circuit. Six Acres is opening its doors (and patio) to the lunch crowd with a new menu that serves up old favourites and comforting classics, along with Happy Hour specials accompanied by a special snack list.

Join them for lunch from Tuesdays to Saturdays, 11:30am to 2:30pm. Happy Hour specials are available between 2:30pm to 5pm.
