TRUVELLE POP-UP SHOP
Creating refined gowns for the modern day bride, Truvelle is stepping out of their studio to host a pop-up shop that features exclusive promotions on gowns, and a special preview of the brand’s 2016 collection. Truvelle’s ‘Maker Collaboration’ is also available for viewing and can be purchased in-store this week only with exclusive accessory designs by Catherine Hartley & Olivia.
The pop-up shop is open now until May 31st on 315 Abbott Street. For more personal bridal consultations, Truvelle will be taking private appointments at their Gastown showroom located at #607 – 55 Water Street. Appointments can be booked here.
A MAGICAL EVENING FOR FOREST LOVE

JOHN FLUEVOG PRESENTS FOLK LOK
John Fluevog Shoes is partnering with the City of Bhangra Festival to host Folk Lok, one of the Festival’s most exciting events on Friday May 29th.
Folk Lok, created by US-based recording artist SETI X, is an intergenerational, cross-cultural, multimedia performance that explores human expressions of folk culture and hip-hop through music and film.

A NIGHT IN NAPA & SONOMA

Gastown newest nightlight venue, M.I.A. is hosting a live set with Anthony Naples on Thursday May 28th. Anthony Naples is a producer and DJ based in Brooklyn, New York, with releases on Mister Saturday Night, Trilogy Tapes, Rubadub, and his own Proibito label. He has provided remixes for Special Request, !!!, Eric Copeland, Lust for Youth, and Four Tet (with whom he has toured). Visit here for more event details.

Good news for all those who have been caught singing “Aaron’s Party” in the shower – ’90s pop sensation, Aaron Carter, is coming to Vancouver and will be at Alexander Gastown this Friday May 29th. BAUHAUS RESTAURANT IS NOW OPEN
The highly anticipated Bauhaus Restaurant has opened to offer a new style of German cuisine created by Michelin Star Chef, Stefan Hartmann.
Over the past decade Hartmann has worked in some of Europe’s most notable Michelin Star restaurants and has caught the attention of food critics all over the world. Tim Adams leads the operations at Bauhaus as General Manager. Tim was instrumental in managing England’s most prestigious establishments including Kensington Palace, Tower of London and Hampton Court Palace. He’s also hosted many high profile guests including the Prime Minister, the Archbishop of Canterbury, Her Majesty the Queen and members of the Royal Family.
Behind Bauhaus is Uwe Boll, who many know from his film career. However, it is Boll’s personal interests in international cuisine that led him to bring high‐end food products, such as Casa Gusta olive oil, to Canada for many years. His passion for exceptional food and ingredients is the inspiration for this endeavor.
The new restaurant boasts 100 seats with a large open concept kitchen, personal Chefs table, private dining room, and wine room.

UN QUIET BODIES EXHIBITION
Today (May 25th) is the last day to check out the Un Quiet Bodies exhibition at Gallery Gachet. This special showcase features new works by Aja Rose Bond & Chandra Melting Tallow, which delve in the complex realities of trauma and survival. Going deep into themes of self-preservation in today’s “able-bodied” society, this exhibition is sure to cover some interesting ground.

This Friday May 29th, Guilt & Company welcomes solo acoustic guitarist, Alexander Flock. As a solo performer he combines bass, melody, choral accompaniment and percussive techniques to create a sound so rich and full you may find it hard to believe all that sound is coming from a single instrument. His performances are high energy and traverse many styles.
