Vancouver’s Top Bartender Competition
La Mezcaleria
Monday March 19
7 pm
La Mezcaleria Gastown is offering Vancouverites a boozy cure for a case of the Mondays with a fun filled cocktail competition.
Presented in partnership with Viejo Indecente Mezcal and Baboon Trading Co., the contest will see eight of the city’s top mixologists, including Brendan Grills, bar manager at La Mezcaleria Gastown, shaking up tasty and envelope-pushing drinks for their chance to win an all-expenses-paid trip to Oaxaca, Mexico. Other participants include Max Borrowman of Juniper Kitchen & Bar, Robyn Gray of Prohibition at the Rosewood Hotel, and Alex Carruthers of Chambar Restaurant.
La Mezcaleria Gastown will not offer full dinner service during the cocktail competition, but a limited menu of five tacos, including Rajas con Crema, Carnitas, and Tinga de Pollo, as well as guacamole and chips, will be available throughout the evening.
Guests are invited to be spectators at the event, which has free admission.
Leisure Club
Guilt & Co
Tuesday March 20
Doors 9pm/Show 9:30pm
Pay-What-You-Can
Leisure Club is a home for the conjuring of pop songs focused on groove, catchy guitar melodies, and vocal hooks. Although the Vancouver five piece was forged in 2016 by their mutual interest in living the most relaxed life possible, their live performances inspire a rhythm in the crowd akin to spring break. “Leisure Club compact a whirlwind summer of love, lust and heartache into 3.5 minutes” (PR Press) and “you can’t help but want to mix a pina colada for your friends wearing a one-piece by a pool” (Betty & Kora). This has led to them sharing the stage with the likes of Blossoms, Lawrence, Cub Sport, Louise Burns, and a performance at Ponderosa Festival.

Rabbit’s Foot Supper Club At The Birds & Beets
Sunday, March 25 | 7 – 10:30pm
Tickets here $85
There’s a trifecta of deliciousness happening in Gastown on Sunday, March 25th! Vancouver Island’s Sea Cider Farm & Ciderhouse and underground dinner/entertainment duo Rabbit’s Foot Supper Club are crossing bodies of water and surfacing from the underground to congregate at the Birds & the Beets for a special five course, cider-paired omnivorous dinner. The menu reads like poetry, and the second course of ‘Wild mushrooms, smoked buttermilk, charcoal cracker, fir oil’ paired with the limited release hopped ‘Wolf in the Woods’ botanically-infused cider sounds especially intriguing.
