Pour l’air by Jocelyn Fortier, a scent studio in Gastown that creates fine fragrance candles, is hosting a Pop Shop this week. The shop will be selling beautifully packaged cotton paper, letterpressed candles as well as travel candles, room sprays and tshirts with handlettered message: I loved you today. Anna Kosturova will be there with crochet as well as One Teaspoon denim.

This Thursday in Gastown, come chowdown on chowder and beer at the Smackdown!
The Portside crew have paired four Gastown restaurants with local breweries and set them a challenge; to create a cracking good chowder and beer combo, all to sway the popular vote and take home the win. A $10 ticket gets you samples of all four entries and a chance to vote. Proceeds go to Mealshare, the organization that operates a “buy a meal, give a meal” program to provide food to local kids in need.
