Now Open
The Good Spirit is now open at 309 Cambie Street and is led by the conscientious Savannah Olsen from the always interesting, Old Faithful Shop on Cordova St.
A present day “metaphysical boutique”, The Good Spirit provides an entrancing selection of tools to assist in personal spiritual development along with a deeply intimate tarot studio led by effervescent and intuitive readers.

Roden Gray – Monocle Book Launch
Come down to the shop between 7:30pm and 9pm on Monday, May 2 for an exclusive book launch with Monocle editors Tyler Brûlé and Andrew Tuck. Copies of their new book, How To Make A Nation: A Monocle Guide, will be available for purchase and signing that night.

Sushi and the City in Gastown
May 7
Sushi and the City begins on May 6th where a limited number can participate in a two and a half hour sushi and sashimi making class with renowned instructor Charlie Lee, a master of Japanese cuisine who trained at Sushi Matsumoto in Seoul, the famous sushi bar by Michelin star winning chef, Matsumoto Mizuho. In this one of a kind class, students will learn how to make restaurant quality sushi and sashimi using the latest techniques in Japanese gastronomy. All guests will have access to a wide selection of stylish plating supplies and fresh garnishes to design the perfect sushi dish. Details here.

DOXA FILM FESTIVAL
This week sees the start of the 15th Doxa Documentary Film Festival.
SFU’s Goldcorp Centre for the Arts in Gastown will be a major venue for the festival.
DOXA is presented by The Documentary Media Society, a Vancouver based non-profit, charitable society devoted to presenting independent and innovative documentaries to Vancouver audiences.
SFU’s Goldcorp Centre for the Arts in Gastown programme will include 3 panel discussions, a special presentation and 2 film screenings. More info here.
