What happens when a sordid assortment of musicians, movers, lovers and comics share the stage with a rockabilly swing band? That’s The Bad Ideas Cabaret. True stories, spontaneous collaboration, audience interaction, and infectious rhythms all come together as Jeff Gladstone & The Bad Ideas host an evening of Cowboy-Noir Cabaret to soothe the troubled soul.

This night photowalk begins at the magical hour of twilight, where you’ll capture the rich blue sky and continue with darker night photography. The tour starts by Vancouver’s beautiful waterfront, discussing long exposure photography. You’ll then set up tripods and commence shooting the convention centre and Canada Place. The group then walks to historic Gastown and captures light trails, writing with light, and covers some night portraiture. This is more of an intermediate level tour, but beginners are welcome. A DSLR camera with manual settings is required, as well as a tripod (both are available for rent).

 

Temptation Tuesday’s at Nicli Antica Pizzeria

Award-­winning Nicli Antica Pizzeria is proud to announce the conception of Temptation Tuesday. To celebrate Temptation Tuesday every week, the restaurant will feature a bottle of wine from their Captain’s List at cost. If one purchases a bottle of featured wine, they will be entered into a draw to win a gift card to Nicli Antica Pizzeria.

To celebrate the beautiful West Coast weather, Bauhaus has created a brand new menu that is sure to surprise and delight. Sample some of Chef Stefan Hartmann’s newest fare at two different price points  and don’t forget to pair your meal with a great wine.

Chef Stefan Hartmann’s newest tasting menu starts with Sturgeon with cucumber and dill (pictured above), followed closely by Skate Wing with white mushrooms, capers, and lemon. Then move on to Potatoes with summer truffle and beurre blanc. Your tastebuds will revel in the famed Veal Tenderloin with artichokes, sweetbread, and quinoa, as well as the Venison with chanterelles, green asparagus, and peach. (Don’t forget the wine!) Lastly, enjoy Dessert Cherries with a cinnamon roll and chocolate.
