ARTSPEAK – New Works.
Come join the art community in celebrating this collection of new work:
Vanessa Grondin, Lexical, Julia Dahee Hong, A Reasonable Request, Alysa Hullett, Tiny Alligator, Keagan Perlette, Prayers and Blasphemies
Wednesday, March 22, 2017 – Doors open at 7:00 pm – Readings at 7:30 pm
What began as a conversation between four emerging writers and visual artists about the problems and pleasures of using language as both a mode of communication and an art medium became a wider exploration of inherited shapes, toward the as-yet-unspeakable, as-yet-unspoken.
Through collaborative creative acts, local gallery visits, workshops with mentors from Vancouver’s art and literary community, and by establishing a commitment to an individual writing practice, these artists have produced new work that addresses Artspeak’s mandate to exhibit contemporary art and encourage a dialogue between visual art and writing.
