You will never find an exact copy of a pair of UltraLimited glasses.
Each pair is unique and unrepeatable in its combination of colours.

Unrepeatable in their uniqueness, these glasses are the product of a man who, after a day’s work in his workshop, turns his head towards the scrap bin of the day’s produced frames, and sees a kaleidoscopic mix of colours randomly scattered in endless combinations.

SALA West Coast Modern House Series: Friedman House
Inform Interiors

May 18th from 5:30 to 7pm
@50 Water St Showroom

You are invited to join us in the celebration of the launch of Dr Richard Cavell and Photographer Michael Perlmutter’s new book, Friedman House.

Built in 1955 and fully restored in 2014, House Friedman was designed by internationally-trained architect, Frederic Lasserre, founder of the UBC School of Architecture. Situated near the university, just outside the city of Vancouver limits, the house combines a modernist aesthetic with a distinctively West Coast Modern ethos.

The future of the house was threatened by the exorbitant land values in Vancouver, where the price of property often outweighs architectural value; however, a national effort to save the house was successful, and the house remains as a testimony to those who value modernist architecture’s special place in the West Coast ethos.
RSVP is required, please fill out this form to attend.

Vintage Inuit
Inuit Gallery

May 12 – June 2
All works are available immediately.

In Vintage Inuit, the Inuit Gallery is pleased to present a collection of works by Inuit artists that, for the most part, belong to the first generation of sculptors who began to carve in the 1950’s but really blossomed from about 1960. In that vein, Vintage Inuit includes many early works, some from the 1950’s, up to one of the most recent examples, the massive Bear with Fish by Kananginak Pootoogook which dates from the 1980’s.

Guilt & Co.

Thu. May 18, 2017
Show 10pm
Pay-What-You-Can

Forged in the heart of Gastown, this bold new project from Canadian trumpeter Malcolm Aiken is the result of his celebrated three year residency at Guilt & Company, Vancouver’s creative live music hub. The sound is dubbedout jazz fusion with down tempo grooves, ambient textures, and vintage synths that set the mood for his lyrical trumpet tone. A synergy emanates that recalls the sounds of Bob James and electric Miles, with modern beats inspired by J Dilla, Flying Lotus and Robert Glasper.
