Remembrance Day at Victory Square

The Remembrance Day Ceremony at Victory Square will begin with a 15 minute performance by the Vancouver Bach Youth Choir and Sarabande at 9:45 a.m.

At 10:00 a.m., veterans, military marching units and bands will be led to Victory Square by the Vancouver Flag Party, with the cenotaph ceremony starting at 10:30 a.m.

The ceremony will culminate with a combined performance of “Sands of Kuwait” by the Vancouver Fire and Rescue Service Band and the Pipes and Drums of the Seaforth Highlanders of Canada.

yeezYeezy lands at Roden Gray

Cool clothes and culture magazines were a generation defining combination, particularly the infamous Vice fashion column, “Dos and Don’ts”.

There was a time when finding a copy of Vice magazine was a precious thing; a cultural touchstone that you could only find in stores that the popular kids in your high-school had never heard of.

Now, however, there are few websites as huge in scope, scale and reach as Vice, and it’s no longer just for the in-the-know few. Also, good luck finding a physical copy of the magazine anymore.

Good news though, Roden Gray carries copies of Vice’s I-D, magazine in-store.  Grab your copy while you’re also checking out the new Yeezy Season 1 line, and the launch of the Yeezy 350 this Saturday at Roden Gray.

Love Gastown with Nicole Bridger

Vancouver philanthrapist, fashion entrepreneur and icon, Nicole Bridger, will be holding a special community appreciation day, at her shop at 14 Water Street, on Friday, November 13th from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. just because she loves people who live and work in Gastown so dang much.

Aw shucks, Nicole, we like you too. #iamlove

The event features 20% off all clothing, and there’ll be cocktails and treats in-store.

Pay What You Can For Jazz-Funk Hip-Hop

Tonight, Monday, November 9th, Guilt & Co. will play host to jazz, funk, ska and hip-hop heroes David Morin and Mark Ejack from Sly Business.

If that description sounds complicated, it’s because neither of these musicians fit neatly into a box. Mostly, they sound like if Jack Johnson and Biggy Smalls had a baby. Or if The Black Keys had RZA as a front man.

It’s good, groovy noise, and you can experience it all tonight for whatever you can spare at Guilt & Co.

Doors at 7 p.m., show at 9:30 p.m.
