Gastown has many fantastic restaurants and we most certainly do brunch. Here’s a list of those that will be serving it up during the weekends (and some during the week!).
Jules Bistro is an quaint and casual French restaurant with a lovely enclosed little patio looking out onto Abbott Street. Brunch includes Roasted waffles, Breakfast Cassoulet and fresh baked croissants.

L’Abattoir, ranked 13 out of Canada’s Top 100 Restaurants list, serves a delectable brunch within a comfortable setting along with fantastic service and a generous list of bubbles, cocktails, ciders and non alcoholic fancy drinks. Dishes include Poached eggs with smoked pork belly, Crepes stuffed with ricotta and lemon zest and Scottish potato scone with smoked salmon.

Tuc Craft Kitchen is well known around Gastown for creating dishes that are hearty, wholesome and simply delicious. Everything is nicely plated with good portions. Some of the brunch items we recommend: Eggs de Campagne, Tuc Croque Madame, Crispy Chicken & Waffles and Waffles, Berries & Cream.

The Flying Pig provides hearty, country kitchen cooked fare with the likes of French Toast with Maple Blueberry Compote, Chef Erik’s Croque Madame, Country Style Breakfast and Signature Corned Beef Hash.

The Blarney Stone whips up a cracking good brunch on the weekends with belly filling delights like A Full Irish Breakfast, Beggars Breakfast, Breakfast Butty, Classic Belgian Waffles and Classic Steak & Eggs.

The Cambie Pub is a great place to go to with a large group of friends. The patio is nicely situated at the corner of Cambie and Cordova and the atmosphere is casual, open, energetic and friendly. Menu includes Benedicts, Waffles, Breakfast Burrito, Breakfast Burger, Avocado Toast and Chorizo Hash.

The Charles Bar, situated at the base of the mighty Woodward’s Building, has a fun little patio and great banquette seating indoors. The have a killer Breakfast Poutine along with a vegetarian Quinoa Benny & Goat Cheese cakes, Nashville Hot Chicken Sliders, Bacon and Egg Burger and Avocado Toast.

The Lamplighter , housed in the historic Dominion Hotel, traces its roots back to 1925 as one of the first pubs in the city to be licensed. Their abundant brunch menu includes Fried Chicken and Waffles, The Hangover Burger, Huevos Rancheros, Banana Bread French Toast along with soups, salads and wings done 6 different ways.

Mensch Jewish Deli is new to the neighbourhood, drawing many to savour its authentic smoked, hand cut hot pastrami sandwiches along with some of the best Reubens on fresh baked rye in the city. And they serve a lovely brunch! Choose from their delicious Hot Pastrami Latke Hash, Breakfast Ruben, Poached Eggs on Lox and Cheesecake Blintzes.
Sunday Brunch served 12pm – 3pm
A traditional Mexican restaurant serving brunch from Wednesday to Sunday until 3pm. Menu includes horchata, huevos divorciados, huevos con chorizo, salmon con tequila benny and pan Frances.
