Plus, we’re introducing a new concert series in the Blood Alley Square, Vancouver’s newest (and coolest) public plaza.

Youth, Marimba
Muevete means to move and this dynamic young group will definitely get you dancing! The members of this marimba ensemble range in age from 11-20 and have been performing at festivals and events around BC under the direction of renowned percussionist Robin Layne. Highlights include the Vancouver World Music Festival and Vancouver Island MusicFest, where they had the chance to share the main stage with another youth marimba group from the island Zazu.

Firstly known as one of Canada’s most accomplished jazz pianists, Miles is also highly acclaimed and sought after as an arranger, producer, composer, session musician, guitarist, vocalist, bassist, saxophonist, songwriter, and musical theatre director. Adding to that, he has worked as a music therapist and collegiate music instructor. Especially in Vancouver, Miles Black is well know as the “first call’ when musicians are looking for top professional enhancements to their projects.

The Vancouver-based Cat Murphy Band is devoted to delivering spirited, high-energy folk-rock infused with humor and passion. An eclectic mix of humour, originality and musical nonsense, Cat Murphy Band won’t knock before they come in, rather kick the door down and take you hostage with their supercharged blend of folk-pop-rock storytelling. The Cat Murphy Band plays both original music and cover songs, from classics, such as Johnny Cash, to modern-day hits, like Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift.
