STEEPED IN TRADITION

The Irish Heather is bringing back it’s ever-popular Long Table Series, starting with special Thanksgiving-themed dinners this Sunday and Monday. Upwards of fifty diners will be gathered at their distictive 40-foot-long communal table to hunker down with a hearty meal of classic comfort dishes and well-brewed beers.

The long weekend seatings take place on October 11 at 7:30pm and October 12 at 7:00pm. Hungry guests can expect a traditional turkey dinner with a twist – turkey pot pie filled with creamed turkey stew and topped with a layer of cranberry stuffing, savoury garlic mashed potatoes, home-style gravy and fresh autumn vegetables. This will surely sell out so stake your seats here

BY THE SLICE OR ALL IN

October marks the start of ‘pumpkin’ season. It seems like it’s in everything these days. But Trees Organic Coffee might have the best option yet – Pumpkin Spice Cheesecake. It’s a light, sweet-spicy surprise of real pumpkin and cinnamon flavours including hints of nutmeg, cloves, orange zest and cardamom. A tinge of cinnamon topping adds an earthy elegance, while whipped cream and a caramel sauce are the final touches to this comfy delicacy. You can stop by for slice or order it whole to take home for your Thanksgiving table…we won’t tell. On a side note, we hear there’s also a tasty Pumpkin Sour cocktail over at TUC Craft Kitchen.

Thanksgiving-LauDINE IN SECRET

Cranberries, turkey, pumpkin pie. Components you know, but dishes you don’t. This weekend, the Secret Location Tasting Room helmed by Executive Chef Montgomery Lau, is hosting a distinctive six course Thanksgiving meal. In keeping with their concept, the menu remains a secret, but it’s sure to be a dining experience to remember. Get your Friday / Saturday or Sunday evening reservation here

KICK IT COUNTRY STYLE

While many celebrations focus on one day, The Bourbon is throwing a trio of event. The Thanksgiving Day Long Weekend Party runs from Friday to Sunday, bringing freebies to guys, gals and those who pay it forward. On Friday, it’s a complimentary bevvy and no cover for the ladies, on Saturday, it’s the boys turn, and on Sunday, it’s a chance to be thankful by giving. The Bourbon is encouraging guests to bring a non-perishable food item before 11pm for free cover and a drink. There’s even a few drink specials as extra incentive.
