KEVIN ROMAIN’S SALIENCE NETWORK + VANCOUVER INTERNATIONAL JAZZ FESTIVAL EMCEE WINNER ANNOUNCEMENT

On Thursday, June 15th Gastown is going back to its deep jazz roots with a special @CoastalJazzFest takeover. Join us in Maple Tree Square Plaza for a special evening with Kevin Romain’s Salience Network.
Inspired by neuroscience, socialism, humility, and fine coffee, drummer/composer Kevin Romain (Only A Visitor), bassist Jeff Gammon, saxophonist John Nicholson, and guitarist Chris Fraser set up shop in the lush median between precision and intuition. Romain’s Salience Network searches for intangible emotional alchemy using beautifully simple tools: wood, metal, and breath.
Plus find out who the new personalities will be for the festival with the announcement of the Vancouver International Jazz Festival Emcee Competition winners.
The three (3) winners will be chosen to emcee select shows held during the Vancouver International Jazz Festival (June 23 to July 2, 2023). Each winner will receive a $250 cash prize, tickets to attend Jazz Festival shows and Jazz Festival swag.
In true Gastown Thursday Night nature, you can expect a high energy, grooving in the cobblestone-streets kind of night – throw in some Coastal Jazz flavour and a friendly competition and let the magic unfold.
