Dogs of Gastown: Meet Mocha

With more nicknames than there are band members in One Direction (ya we went there), this Miniature Australian Labradoodle is shaking things up at Orling & Wu. At just seven months old, she’s already the inspiration for a new line of products in the Gastown décor store.

As soon as the Cloud 7 travel bed was unfolded, she slowed down enough to let us get a good shot (you can even see an eye!)

Mocha isn’t picky about what you call her – Mocchi, Mochaccino, Mocha-wawa, Mocchiato – as long as you stop and say hi. Regularly found behind the counter, this bronze pup has been named the Chief Product Analyst at Orling & Wu, responsible for reviewing all pet products that come her way.

Yes. Orling & Wu has gone to the dogs, literally. New pet parents, Julie & Fredrik were having a hard time finding pet-proof accessories that fit Mocha’s needs and their own lifestyle. While looking through some postcards from a past trip to Paris, Julie came across Cloud 7, an eco-conscious line based in Berlin that fit the bill.

Founder and designer, Petra Jungebluth, created the minimalist Nordic inspired collection, which includes cozy beds, deluxe dog carriers, leather goods, toys and even a brush with a real beech tree handle. Made from natural materials, including hemp, organic cotton, natural sheep’s wool and nubuck leather, Cloud 7 is now available at Orling & Wu, and it’s got tails wagging.

Mocha herself is happy to test out the merchandise, especially this Cloud 7 dog bed, coincidentally called the ‘mocca’. When she’s not in the store, she can usually be found greeting her canine pals outside Chill Winston or popping in to Montauk Sofa for a good, old-fashioned tummy rub.

If you’ve got a marvelous mutt, consider submitting a nomination for the next edition of the Dogs of Gastown. Just snap a pic and tag us on Instagram (@mygastown) or tweet us @gastown.
