It’s that time of year again when Gastown comes alive with the holiday bustle – and we could not be more ready. We invite you to hop in that (free) Evo, park in that (free) parkade, and start spreading that (free) love. Whether it be through a kiss under the largest mistletoe in the city, a shopping trip to your favourite small business to search for that Only in Gastown item, or catching a random group of dancers or carolers on the street. Let’s do this holiday thing!
Gastown Thursday Nights:
Holiday Kick Off
December 2, 4:30pm -7:30pm
Dancers and musicians are taking over the streets and store windows for, yet another, Gastown Thursday Night on December 2nd. Watch Inform Interiors’ windows transform into a Candyland stage with Arts Umbrella Dance Company’s Mixed Nuts – a Nutcracker inspired ballet with a Gastown twist. Plus, catch the roaming Homegoing Brass Band and performers, Patrick Gavigan, Marie Hui and Krystle Dos Santos singing their little hearts out in Maple Tree Square Plaza.

Kiss Me In Gastown
November 25 – January 11
During the holiday season, mistletoe will be hung at 11 different locations throughout the neighbourhood, inviting patrons to walk the streets while spreading the love – and nothing less – on social media using the hashtag #kissmeingastown.

Evo Partnership

Its no reindeer, BUT we’ve partnered with Evo Car Share for the month of December to give away up to 20 free bonus minutes. All you’ve got to do is send Evo a picture via their social direct messages the next time you’re in Gastown and they’ll gift you free driving minutes (one entry per Member).

Time to shout out with glee! Throughout the month of December, Gastown is offering free parking in Vancouver’s largest (and one of the worlds best parking structures) – Easy Park Gastown – every Saturday from 8am – 12am.

#Stockjoy Charity Auction
December 1 – 20
Vancouver BIA’s are joining forces with the Mayor’s office to give back to the community through the #Stockjoy charity auction.
Here’s the lowdown:
- Each participating neighbourhood has filled a stocking with unique items from their areas (in true Gastown style, we’ve transformed our stocking into Herschel backpack…)
- Stockings will be auctioned off from December 1st to 20th in support of the Greater Vancouver Food Bank.
