2019 Vancouver International Jazz Festival Presents: Live at The 2nd Floor at The Water Street Cafe Gastown Laura Crema/Bill Coon Trio Laura Crema/Bill Coon Trio Live at The 2nd Floor Gastown Water Street Cafe MONDAY, JULY 1 7 – 10:00 PM Exquisite Vancouver vocalist Laura Crema is joined by two of Canada’s musical treasures: Juno nominated guitarist Bill Coon and virtuosic bassist Paul Rushka. Playing originals and pieces from the jazz, blues, folk, and Brazilian songbooks, they create a tapestry of beautiful sound while nurturing a playful sense of musical interaction. His unique sound combines elements of soul, jazz, indie and top 40 music. Aside from his own compositions, his performing song book includes hits by artists such as Sam Smith, Drake, Norah Jones, Coldplay, Al Green, Radiohead, Stevie Wonder and many others, all covered with sweet soulful taste. RESERVE YOUR SPOT The Poor Boy Trio Pourhouse THURSDAY, JULY 4 7 – 10:00 PM The Poorboy Trio’ is a swing blues group led by Huggybear Leonard &  Dave ‘Double D’ Dykhuizen. In addition, there’s a very steady rhythm section consisting of the talented  Pat Darcus on double bass or the dynamic Martin Eade on drums! Performing blues, soul, Canadiana, and jazz with traditional blues harmonica by Leonard and the multi-faceted sizzling guitarist -Double D. The trio trips through a variety of wires born in the cusp of the rock era influenced by rhythm and blues . They are a weekly feature and favourite at Pourhouse Vancouver in Gastown for 8 years running and the band is featured weekly/monthly at other venues as well in the Lower Mainland. They are also sometimes known as Leonard and the Lab Rats – the sister band of the Poorboy Trio.
