    L’ABATTOIR OPENING TICKET AUCTION FOR NO. 1 GAOLER’S MEWS ON MONDAY JULY 8th FOR EXCLUSIVE DINNER FEATURING CHEF DEREK DAMMANN Maison Publique and McKiernan’s Chef to join forces with Chef Lee Cooper for Edition No. 16 of No. 1 Gaoler’s Mews benefiting the BC Hospitality Foundation. There are only 8 seats available for each of the No. 1 Gaoler’s Mews dinners, and guests are seated in the beautifully appointed kitchen so they can watch the chefs cooking every dish in the multi-course feast.  It’s an intimate affair, and a lot of fun for the diners, with numerous special touches that are unique to each dinner.  The online ticket auction for Edition No. 16 featuring Chef Dammann opens Monday, July 8th at 9am and closes Saturday, July 13th at 6pm.  Tickets are sold in pairs to the highest bidder, with 100% of the proceeds going directly to the BC Hospitality Foundation. Interested patrons may add their contact information to this list to receive updates on all future dinners as well as information on ticket auction openings. The 2019 Global Relay Gastown Grand Prix Wednesday, July 10th 5.30pm This July 10th, the cobblestones in Gastown will rattle as pro class cyclists from around the world compete in North America’s largest criterium race. The Global Relay Gastown Grand Prix, now in its 45th year, transforms the neighbourhood into a streetwide race track that see riders speeding by at up to 60km/hour. It ‘s thrilling to watch and free to attend. The GGP boasts the highest one day prize purse for both the winning prize and total prize purse for a Canadian Criterium. With over 20,000 spectators in attendance it’s sure to be an electrifying experience. A criterium, or crit, is a bike race consisting of several laps around a closed circuit, the length of each lap or circuit ranging from about 800 m to 10,000 m. In addition to the race, riders compete for bonus prizes (primes) consisting of cash and bike equipment.
