For those that aren’t familiar with Coffeebar, this coffee shop is a local favourite with a beautiful view of Gaoler’s Mews Courtyard. This season, Coffeebar is serving their version of the Pumpkin Pie Latte. Our personal favourite is Coffebar’s hot chocolate a mix of melted vegan and gluten-free Vintage Plantations chocolates made with “Antigua Nacional” Ecuadorian cocoa beans. Vintage Plantations bars are also available for purchase at Coffeebar. Check out all these treats at 10 Water Street.
David’s Tea is like a Sweet Factory but for the tea world, offering plenty of fun flavours. Our favourites to try for the holiday is Santa’s Secret, a combination of Chinese black tea, peppermint leaves, candy cane sprinkles, and Sleigh Ride, an earthy and sweet mix of cinnamon, apples, raisins, almonds, and hibiscus. Check out David’s Tea in Gastown at 164 Water Street.
East Van Roasters
Gastown social enterprise, East Van Roasters, is Vancouver’s first bean-to-bar chocolate factory serving organic bean-to-bar chocolate and coffee roasted and prepared on site. There are plenty of things to enjoy for anyone with a sweet tooth including hand rolled truffles, gluten free brownies with chocolate caramel sauce, and single-origin chocolate bars made in all sorts of flavours such as toffee and black sea-salt, and bing cherries with fig, almond, cranberry and pistachio or candied ginger. Check out the chocolatiers workers in action at 319 Carrall Street.
199 Water Street
The infamous red cups are back for this holiday! The long established brand is now serving special holiday drinks including Caramel Brulée Latte, Peppermint Mocha, Eggnog Latte, and a new Gingerbread Latte recipe. Grab your favourite holiday drink at their 199 Water Street location and enjoy Starbuck’s patio view of the Steam Clock.
Take Five Cafe
Take Five Cafe has been perfecting an original Salted Caramel Bourbon Latte concoction from their East Van kitchen. This limited edition holiday latte is made with custom roasted espresso, steamed milk, and a sublime Bourbon infusion with a hint of caramel and sea salt. The alcohol is burned off in the process, so don’t worry, this drink is not spiked! For a sweet bite, try their classic pumpkin tart, made with a trace of brandy and apricot glaze topping.
Trees Organic Coffee
For tea, coffee, and cheesecake, Trees Organics is your spot. For a limited time only, they are serving three holiday lattes: Brown Sugar Cinnamon, Pumpkin Spice, and Spiced Chai made with organic chai instead of espresso. And you simply cannot walk out of Trees Organics without having one of their cheesecakes! Our favourite is their Pumpkin Spice Cheesecake (pictured above) with cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, cardamom, and of course, pumpkin and a splash of whipped cream. Try them all at Trees Organic located at 321 Water Street.
