Q: If you have $1000 to spend in Gastown, where would you go?
A: If I had $1000 to spend in Gastown I’d have a coffee, a delicious coffee, at Timbertrain. Then I would go shopping at The Block and One of a Few, have an ice cream at Soft Peaks, then enjoy some margs and nachos at Tacofino… and maybe a few more drinks at Six Acres (when it reopens!).
Q: Can you name a “Gastown moment” (something that wouldn’t happen in any other ‘hood)?
A: It’s hard to pick just one having worked in Gastown for over 20 years. One of the great things about Gastown is that it’s a place everyone wants to come down to. I often had friends stopping by the studio or I would bump into them on the street pre-pandemic. I have spent many, many nights at various Gastown bars like Six Acres, Alibi Room, The Irish Heather and The Diamond hanging out with friends and I miss it! One thing that I miss is the Gastown bike race- it would go past my studio window and it was fun to have friends over to watch it from my studio.
Q: Number one date spot in Gastown?
A: My perfect Gastown date would start with a drink and cheese plate at Salt Tasting Room, L’Abattoir for dinner and then Alibi Room for an after dinner night cap.
