May is Hamburger Month – Part 2

By now, we imagine you’ve gone out and indulged; getting ketchup all over your mouth and with fingers greasy and bellies full, exhailed: “I’m stuffed”.

Well, there’s more. Gastown is a treasure trove for all foodies. Today, that treasure is a perfectly cooked burger from any of our fine pubs.

We’ll begin with the Clough Club. They have an interestingly delicious Catfish Burger – iceburg lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, siracha and tartar sauce.

Guilt & Co. has great jazz music and swing dancing and also great burgers  – try their – Bison Burger a hand-made burger with tomato jam, sticky onions, zucchini relish, all on a brioche bun.

The Lamplighter offers 4 tasty selections, 3 of them using naturally raised beef from Cache Creek simply seasoned and grilled on a cast iron stove – including a Blue Cheese Burger – caramelized onions, crumbled blue cheese, iceberg lettuce and vine ripened tomato.

The great industrial grills of Steamworks produce marvelous burgers 7 days a week. 6 different burgers including the House-made Quinoa Burger – smoked cheddar stuffed quinoa roasted vegetable patty, pesto mayo, lettuce, tomato, grilled parmesan tuscan ciabatta and the juicy Brewhouse Burger – applewood cheddar, beer braised onions, bourbon bacon jam, house bbq sauce, dijon mayo, lettuce, tomato, black sesame brioche bun.

For great burgers at really affordable prices, The Cambie Pub Gastown is a homerun. When you want to do it your way, we recommend The Frank Sinatra – a classic burger topped with a hotdog, melted cheese and fried onions.
