The Nooks Holiday Pop-Up

Founder Colleen Imrie started The Nooks in Ontario as a consignment shop selling furniture and art. Eventually she attracted local artisans who wanted to sell in her store. Colleen soon realized there was a great need for local makers to have a way to break into retail.
As the business developed, The Nooks became more about getting money in the makers’ pockets and giving the community more access to great local goods.
The Nooks now supplies artists with a space to sell their creations and access to their business program that helps entrepreneurs realize their potential.
Now comes Co-owner of The Nooks Vancouver Adam Sharanewych, who started out as a vendor selling hair care products when he first met Colleen.
Coming from a family of entrepreneurs himself, Adam has always been passionate about enabling others to become the owners of their own business and to develop their own products.
He soon decided to follow his own passion by joining The Nooks to help others turn their side hustles into full time careers.
Adam moved to Vancouver in April to scout out the many talented artisans that Vancouver has to offer.
Originally looking at Kitsilano, Gastown seemed out of reach in Adam’s mind. However, when presented with the opportunity to open a Pop-Up location in Gastown at the former Litchfield shop, they jumped at the chance.
Due to a number of markets being closed for Covid, Adam thought this would be a great opportunity to give the talented artists in Gastown somewhere to showcase their work.
The Nooks is thrilled to join what Adam says (and we agree) is arguably the most beautiful neighbourhood in Vancouver. The Nooks carries everything from home décor, to bath & beauty, to candles, clothing… you name it!
The Nooks Pop-Shop is open until December 31st, just in time to shop local for the Holidays and find that perfect gift (or treat yourself, it’s been a tough year and you deserve it).
