The Ben Lockwood trio brings some of Vancouver’s finest jazz musicians together to bring you a night of upbeat, swinging music.Ben was born in the UK, but now resides in Vancouver, BC. A woodwind multi-instrumentalist (saxophone, flute and clarinet), he has been lucky enough to play all over the world, performing at venues that include: The Barbican, Royal Festival Hall, the Royal Albert Hall in London, the 606 Club (London), O’Doul’s Restaurant and Bar (Vancouver), Cory Weeds’ The Cellar Jazz Club (Vancouver), and Frankies Jazz Club (Vancouver) as well as being featured at the TD Vancouver International Jazz Festival.Expect a night of fun, swinging standards, light bossanovas, and sultry ballads.

The Lost Souls of Gastown Tour

Venture into Vancouver’s earliest and most gruesome history on the Lost Souls of Gastown Tour. You’ll discover a time when Vancouver was the Granville Townsite – the wild frontier town that suffered a devastating fire, smallpox outbreaks, and unsolved murders. Designed for adult audiences, the Lost Souls of Gastown Tour is both a walking tour and a theatre piece. Created by Forbidden Vancouver Walking Tour’s Chief Storyteller Will Woods – and based on documented Vancouver history – the plot weaves through back streets and alleyways to a dramatic finale in the heart of Gastown’s Maple Tree Square.

Gastown tours run Tues, Thurs, Fri, Sat — 8 p.m.
Price: $28 adult | $25 senior/student.

The German General Consul Dr. Schmidt, members of the German Canadian Business Association and members of the academic circles will all get together to enjoy a typical white asparagus meal consisting of a three course dinner and a glass of wine. First course is asparagus soup, the second course is a small schnitzel with hollandaise potatoes and asparagus while the third course is an apple dessert. Cost is $55 per person.
