Join us each and every Monday on The 2nd Floor evening between 7:00 pm and 10:00 pm as we host the best of soul in Vancouver. Local and international artists playing original tracks and covers of your favourite Soul, R&B and Funk.

Up the staircase The 2nd Floor is a separate venue space than the main dining area at the Water St. Cafe. While enjoying the full menu from Chef and owner Alan Tse, you can now enjoy the ambience of live music.

For each guest that joins us a $5 per set Support Live Music contribution will be collected and given to the artists performing that evening for each set enjoyed by the guest.

‘The Single Malts’ is a newly formed, traditional swing- jazz band comprised of some of the most iconic players in the country. Focused on foot tapping, dress-flipping fun, The Single Malts are here to have fun with favourite jazz classics to keep the evening swinging through harmony, improvisation and a culmination of lifetimes dedicated to live performance, musical excellence, entertainment and most importantly, friendship. Join the one and only Jack Stafford on Saxophone, Order of Canada winner Oliver Gannon on guitar, Jerry Boey (Dr. B) on trumpet, Andre Lachance on bass and Chris Nordquist (the wrist) on Drums. Wendy Biscuit will be sharing her vocals on some of her favourite swing standards for an night when anything can happen!’

Join us on September 19th from 5 to 7pm at 50 Water Street as we welcome Architect Mia Lehrer as a part of the UBC School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture lecture series.

Mia Lehrer, FASLA, founded Studio-MLA with a vision to improve quality of life through landscape. She is internationally recognized for progressive landscape design, advocacy for sustainable and people-friendly public places, and catalyzing work for a climate-appropriate future. Mia has led the design and implementation of ambitious public and private projects, including the Hollywood Park Racetrack redevelopment and its new LA NFL Stadium, the LA County Natural History Museum Gardens, Vista Hermosa Natural Park, and many Los Angeles River-related projects. She earned her Master of Landscape Architecture degree from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design, and lectures and teaches around the world. In 2017 she received the ASLA’s LaGasse Medal.

Chef’s Catch Dinner

Join us on Thursday September 19th at 6:30pm for the first in a series of monthly Chef’s Catch Dinners with each menu focusing on a different Ocean Wise and seasonal seafood or shellfish.

This month, Chef Lee Cooper and Wine Director, Samantha Ross have planned a four course, beverage-paired dinner around Pacific Northwest halibut, which is in season from early spring until late fall.

Guests will be treated to dinner at an intimate 18-seat communal table that faces the kitchen and raw bar, where they will watch Chef Cooper and his culinary team create each dish with thoughtful wine pairings with each course included in the ticket price.

Lemongrass House Christmas in September

Platinum Elements is a jazz duo based in Vancouver, BC. The pair consists of Casey on vocals and trombone, and Ashley on guitar. Both of these ladies are educated through the Capilano University Jazz Studies program and have each performed at numerous venues in and around Vancouver. These dynamic musicians have teamed up to bring their own version of jazz standards and modern classics to the local music scene. Their repertoire consists of everything from Ella Fitzgerald and Frank Sinatra to Bria Skonberg and Amy Winehouse.
