Easter weekend kicks off this Friday with four wonderful days of springtime celebrations.Whether you’ll be lost deep within a hunt for those elusive chocolate eggies, donning a lifesize bunny costume with the fluffiest of fur, or heading out with friends and family to find a nice spot for brunch, Gastown is sure to be the place to go.

Gastown has some fantastic places in which to enjoy brunch. Here you’ll find plenty of variety in cuisine, from Mexican to French along with waffles, classic eggs toast and bacon and freshly baked goods.


FOUR DAYS OF BRUNCH: AN EASTER CELEBRATION!

Spring is in the air at The Flying Pig  in Gastown. The fun and friendly pub is celebrating the Easter weekend (March 30 – April 2) by kicking off with four days of brunch. The Flying Pig  cooks up hearty country kitchen cooked fare with the likes of French Toast with Maple Blueberry Compote, Chef Erik’s Croque Madame,Wild Mushroom, Asparagus, Chèvre Frittata, Country Style Breakfast and Signature Corned Beef Hash.

Water Street Cafè serves an abundant brunch inspired by West Coast and classic breakfast cuisine. The menu includes a West Coast Crab Cake Benny, Smoked Salmon Benny, Pork Belly Benny, Sausage and Egg Ragout, Stuffed French Toast, Avocado Toast and House Made Granola. Also available during brunch hours is the Lunch Classics menu which includes various pastas, chowders, seafood appies, salads, sandwiches and burgers. The chef will be preparing a special brunch feature for the holiday.

Brunch will be served for four days, Friday to Monday starting at 11am.


Ranked 13 out of Canada’s Top 100 Restaurants list, L’abattoir serves a delectable brunch within a comfortable setting along with fantastic service and a generous list of bubblies, cocktails, ciders and non alcoholic fancy drinks. Dishes include a Basket of baked goods, Poached eggs with Canadian bacon, Buttermilk and ricotta pancakes, Steak and egg, Salade Niçoise and a Full Breakfast with duck sausage.

Served Saturday and Sunday from 10am- 2pm


La Mezcaleria is a traditional Mexican with a focus on mescals.  Weekend brunch includes horchata, chilaquiles verdes, huevos divorciados, migas con chorizo, salmon con tequila benny, sweet orange cream cheese crepes, and pan frances.

Brunch served Friday, Saturday & Sunday until 2pm.


Jules Bistro  is a quaint and casual French restaurant with a lovely enclosed little patio looking out onto Abbott Street. Brunch includes French onion soup gratinee, Roasted waffles, Breakfast Cassoulet and fresh baked mini croissants.

Tuc Craft Kitchen is well known around Gastown for creating dishes that are hearty, wholesome and simply delicious. Everything is nicely plated with good portions. Some of the brunch items we recommend: Oeuf en Meurette & Biscuit, Pig & Eggs, Crispy Chicken & Waffles and Waffles & Whateva with seasonal fruit.

The Blarney Stone whips up a cracking good brunch on the weekends with belly filling delights like A Full Irish Breakfast, Beggars Breakfast, Breakfast Butty, Classic Belgian Waffles, O’Benedicts, Deep Fried Mars Bar and Classic Steak & Eggs.

The Cambie Pub is a great place to go to with a large group of friends. The patio is nicely situated at the corner of Cambie and Cordova and the atmosphere is casual, open, energetic and friendly. Menu includes Benedicts, Waffles, Breakfast Burrito, Breakfast Burger, Avocado Toast and Chorizo Hash.

Housed in the historic Dominion Hotel, The Lamplighter traces its roots back to 1925 as one of the first licensed pubs in the city. Their abundant brunch menu includes Fried Chicken and Waffles, The Hangover Burger, Huevos Rancheros, Banana Bread French Toast along with soups, salads and wings done 6 different ways.
