Kit and Ace is a Canadian apparel brand founded in 2014 by the former lead designer of Lululemon Athletica Inc. Shannon Wilson and her stepson JJ Wilson.They are relatively new in the hood and were born here in Gastown. They have created ‘technical cashmere’ clothing that combines everyday styled clothing that you can run, workout and do yoga in. Their summer t-shirt line is made here in Vancouver. Canadian style and craftsmanship that you can wear long after Canada Day.

Gastown newcomers, The Basement by Loyal Coalition on Cambie Street is a platform for local emerging streetwear-esque and casual wear brands from Vancouver, allowing designers to showcase their goods and be part of a collective of Vancouver businesses and entrepreneurs. You can’t get more local than that.

Custom Canadian dressmaker, Ric Yuenn has his own atelier on Cordova. His style is unique and you can catch him always sewing something interesting. Browse through his collection of vintage-inspired gowns with the idea of that holiday soiree in mind.

Also on Cordova, Motherland carries a casual assortment of menswear essentials. Their in-house label gives gents an affordable option for sartorial suiting and a majority of the line is produced at their Vancouver studio.

Nicole Bridger is a well-known designer throughout Canada. Her flagship store on Water Street, showcases her line of coveted eco style couture. Her designs are a true testament to eco-fashion, manufactured locally using sustainable fabrics.
