Bringing exhibitors and products from Amsterdam, New York, Italy, Montreal, Portland and more, alongside a wealth of emerging and established local talent, it’s the place for be for anyone looking to update their space. And once you’ve explored the exhibition floor, a short walk down Water Street leads right into Gastown’s design district, where inspiration can become a reality.
Launched in 2004 under the name Design Vancouver, the event draws more than 35,000 visitors looking to be inspired by more than 250 exhibitors showcasing products and services that will transform any space. Gastown design studios, Inform Interiors and Montauk, will be among the exhibitors and Nancy Bendtsen of Inform will be speaking in The Value of Authentic Design panel on Saturday afternoon.

INFORM INTERIORS / B&B ITALIA
For more than 40 years, Inform Interiors has called Gastown home. The company’s two large showrooms, at 97 and 50 Water Street, house hundreds of classic and contemporary design furniture pieces, as well as Italian kitchens, extensive lighting displays, home accessories and an architecture & design bookstore. The current window display features furniture and photographs by Parisian designer, Charlotte Perriand.
MONTAUK SOFA
Born in Montreal, Montauk Sofa is approaching twenty years of timeless design. In their words, a sofa is a very personal item where pivotal moments in life often take place. Montauk creates furniture for the times we live in, influenced by culture, art and design. Their ultra modern sectional, Hugo, is currently featured, offering 100% grey wool felt comfort in custom and apartment sizes.
PARLIAMENT
At Parliament Interiors, the look is crisp and modern, with mid-century inspirations and a décor palette that adds a pop of the ‘it’ colour to statement grey and white. The studio also offers a number of space-saving furniture options that are modular and multifunction for Vancouver’s smaller spaces. The shop, known for the variety of owl accessories that they carry, is also filled with unique wall décor, throw pillows and a special section of the store devoted to Kermodi Living Art.
BULTHAUP
bulthaup Vancouver opened in 2009, bringing German aesthetics and innovative, ergonomic solutions to kitchen and living space design. The team offers a seamless experience from concept to completion, including the development of a concept, drawing up of plans, contractor liaison and expert installation. Recent projects in Cape Town, Antwerp and Berlin feature on their Facebook page, inspiring visitors to create their perfect kitchen.
ZIENTTE
For those looking for a custom approach, Zientte has been designing and producing their own products for close to thirty years. With 15 stores around the world, they offer living and dining room furnishings, alongside beds and select home accessories.
